Tiffany Lee Brown is a writer, performer, and interdisciplinary artist based in Portland, Oregon. Author of A Compendium of Miniatures, she is an editor of Plazm magazine and is the director of New Oregon Arts & Letters, formerly known as 2GQ/2 Gyrlz Quarterly.

Tiffany's writing has appeared in UTNE, Bookforum, Oregon Humanities, Tin House, Bust, Wired, and Portland Monthly, and in charming literary journals and anthologies such as Gargoyle, Northwest Edge, Slow Trains, and The Bust Guide to the New Girl Order. Her performance and installation works have been presented at Performance Works NW, Wordstock, the Enteractive Language Festival, and PICA, among others.

Tiffany holds BA and MFA degrees, and has studied at the University of California, Berkeley; Goddard College; and Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. She has received grants and residencies from RACC (Regional Arts & Culture Council), the City of Portland, Caldera Arts, Soapstone, and Hypatia, and serves on the Selection Committee for the Visual Arts Chronicle of Portland. She recently won the ArtEx Award.

Miss Brown is currently adjunct faculty in the Master of Humanities program at Prescott College. Graduate students at PNCA, the Pacific Northwest College of Art, may request Tiffany as their mentor in the MFA in Visual Studies program. Follow her exploits at magdalen.com.

Upcoming Performances - EL-fest

I will be hosting an event November 3, and performing November 25 and November 27, at EL-fest in Portland. The Enteractive Language Festival calendar is now available on the 2 Gyrlz website.

2GQ presents "Regarding Language," a very special night of readings, performances, and word games at the Heathman Hotel Tea Room on First Thursday, November 3. Dress exquisitely! For details, click here.

In addition to hosting "Re:Lang," I'll be performing a performance piece called "Tongue," part of the Candy Blue series about bipolar disorder, at The Language of Con$umeri$m. I'll also play music as part of the alpha wave-inducing orchestra in Brain Waves Speaking the Language of Slumber.
